Victor has spent his career learning trucking particularly in the tanker industry. He began his career with a dry bulk hauling company as an accountant after graduating with an Accounting degree from University of Florida, widely recognized nationally for its School of Accounting. His cost accounting acumen was quickly put to work and became Controller very early in his career. His company was later sold to a large conglomerate who recognized the talent and quickly promoted him to Vice President of Finance.
During this time, Victor became more involved with all departments including Operations and Sales. In the year 2000, Victor had a vision for how to build a successful trucking enterprise. With a partner, he founded StarTrans, Inc. hauling dry bulk products in the Southeast. Within 5 years, StarTrans was named one of the fastest growing companies in South Carolina, becoming the largest hauler of dry cement in the US with over 500 trucks, 10 terminal locations and $80 million in annual revenues including 3 tuck-in acquisitions along the way. When the business was sold to Trimac Transportation, Victor led the new Dry Bulk Products group over the next 3 years.
Victor was then given an opportunity to join Indian River Transport hauling liquid food grade products as their General Manager. This is where he learned the liquid food industry, and once again had a vision how to differentiate and be successful in this segment. Teaming with Rick Johnston and an investor, he started Guaranteed Transport Service, growing the company to 200 trucks in only 3 years.
Victor is well respected in the industry, actively involved in National and State Trucking Associations, and also recently sat on the Board of Directors for the Juice Producers Association (JPA). He has a solid track record of building trucking companies focusing on customer service, driver relations and safety utilizing his analytical skills and process development.
